Ko Soo war flick to be released on July 21



Second poster of war flick "Frontline" [Showbox]

The official release date and second poster for Korean actor Ko Soo's upcoming war flick has been revealed, according to the movie producer's Showbox.

On Monday, Showbox announced in a press release that "Frontline" will open in local theaters on July 21 while unveiling the second official poster for the film which showed actors Ko Soo and Shin Ha-kyun donned in military fatigues and holding guns with the phrase "It's not over yet ..!"


"Frontline," helmed by Korean director Jang Hoon whose works include "Secret Reunion" and written by scenarist Park Sang-yeon, tells the story of two South Korean soldiers (played by Ko and Shin) that are captured by the North during the war of 1953. They are held prisoners of war until they form a plan to escape from the enemy.

Ko first started out in the entertainment industry with an appearance in the music video for "Letter" by singer Position in 1998 and has since appeared in numerous dramas and films. His most notable roles include the TV series "Piano" and "Will it Snow for Christmas?" and movies "Some" and "White Night."

The actor last starred in the action flick "Haunters" alongside actor Gang Dong-won which was sold to several countries including Thailand, Taiwan, Malaysia, Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg.


He recently signed with BH Entertainment that manages the careers of Hallyu stars Lee Byung-hun and Han Hyo-joo.

Shin first trained as a stage actor at the Seoul Institute of the Arts and made his debut in 1999 with a role in the film "The Happenings." He has since starred in a score of movies and dramas such as "Joint Security Area (2000)," "Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance (2002)" and "Thirst (2008)."
